St. Joseph’s Primary School’s Media Arts program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to navigate technology and media responsibly while fostering their creativity and imagination.

Our program is in line with the Victorian Curriculum guidelines for this area and is tailored to meet the individual needs of each student.

The program incorporates the use of cutting-edge technology such as green screens, iPads, and online tools to explore various forms of media. Students learn to create and edit digital content such as videos, animations, and podcasts, developing their digital literacy skills at their level. Through these activities, students gain a deep understanding of the media landscape and how to navigate it safely and responsibly.

As an eSmart school, we prioritise the teaching of responsible technology use. We teach students how to use technology in a respectful and ethical manner, how to recognize and avoid online risks such as cyberbullying, and how to protect their personal information online. We also encourage parents and caregivers to play an active role in promoting responsible technology use at home, and offer support and resources to assist with this.

St. Joseph’s Media Arts program provides students with a comprehensive education in digital literacy, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in today’s digital world while promoting responsible technology use. Our students create amazing works, and we are proud to offer a program that fosters creativity, imagination, and critical thinking skills.
